Site Details

The adjacent Blue Lagoon CP is a mixture of wet grassland, reedbeds, scrub and pools. Bletchley BP is a landfill site with several filled-in pits, one main pit and a small marshy area. Warning: the pit sides are steep and dangerous, and the pits are best viewed from the tops of the slopes. The landfill site is still actively worked.

Directions

Park in car park (signposted "Blue Lagoon") off Drayton Road, in the southwest corner of Bletchley (Drayton Road in the Water Eaton estate). Follow a network of footpaths west through Blue Lagoon Country Park, and go through a hedge to view the brickpits. The main pit is the southernmost one.

Access

Paths often very muddy.

Parking

Spaces in Blue Lagoon CP car park. Birders need to be wary of car crime in this area - the park is regularly worked by the local parks trust, but car break-ins have occurred.
